Home to the renowned Penland School of Crafts and the beautiful Trillium Gallery, visitors to Little Switzerland relish browsing and shopping at the community's many art galleries.

The Trillium Gallery, one of the shops at Switzerland Inn, features an assortment of handcrafted items including pottery, blown glass, stained glass, jewelry, wood carvings, metal work and decorative items.

Exhibiting the works of nationally recognized artisans, the Trillium Gallery is a great place to shop for watercolor paintings and fine art pieces featuring scenes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and its many mountain views and overlooks. The Penland School of Crafts is a one-of-a-kind center for craft education in the nearby town of Penland, North Carolina. The school was founded in the 1920’s and offers classes on pottery, glassblowing, metalworking, weaving and woodworking. Fine art classes including painting, photography and print making are offered each spring and fall.
